An Android 6.0 Marshmallow runs the device. There is also a text message filter to warn users of phishing attacks. A power saving mode is also featured to freeze the background apps and to save the battery life.

Included is Mi Max, with three versions based on RAM and internal storage. It has dual-SIM functionality, an all-metal body, and a fingerprint scanner. It comes with a 16-megapixel f/2.0 camera at the back, with LED flash and PDAF and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is expected to have a price tag ranging from Rs 15,000 ($220) to Rs 20,000 ($294)
