A WOMAN allegedly rammed a police car and smashed into another car after running a red light in Lithgow in a series of dramatic police chases.

Police say Susan Louise Nixon 34, was behind the wheel of a green Hyundai Excel which was pursued by two separate police patrols on from 11am to 11.15am on morning near the town of Cullen Bullen, north of Lithgow, before both chases were called off.

At 11.30am Lithgow police spotted the Hyundai but when officers approached the stationary vehicle and tried to open its locked door the driver then allegedly reversed into the police car and sped off.

The driver then ran a red light and crashed into a Holden Commodore before continuing for a short distance then stopping, police say.

The driver was forcibly removed from the car by police and was charged with 11 police pursuit and driving offences.

The mother, who is listed in court documents as living 300km away in Coonabarabran, was refused bail in Lithgow Local Court on Wednesday and will reappear today.
