A woman was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries after she was hit by a pick-up truck in Brampton on Sunday afternoon. Peel police officers arrived on the scene, located in a residential area on Harper Road, near Clarence Street and Kennedy Road, around 1 p.m.

Cst. George Tudos said the woman, likely in her 30s, was hit by a truck in front of a driveway in the neighbourhood. Tudos said the woman and the truck’s driver are residents who live on the street.

The driver remained on the scene and spoke to police.

Streets in the Jersey Avenue and Harper Road area were closed while the Major Collision Bureau and officers on the scene investigated. Police started clearing the scene around 4:30 p.m.
