A woman has died in a Saint-Hyacinthe hospital after what police are describing as a domestic violence case. Police were called to a six-unit townhouse on des Seigneurs Street West just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.
When they arrived, they found the back door was broken and a window had been smashed.
Inside one of the units, officers discovered a man and a woman, who were unconscious. They were brought to hospital in critical condition.
Police say the woman was in her 30s. The nature of the pair’s injuries was not divulged.
Police originally said the incident seemed to be a break in, but are now referring to it as a case of domestic violence. Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec’s major crimes unit are at the scene.
