A 19-year-old Milton woman is dead after a car crash in Halton Hills this afternoon.  The driver, a 25-year-old Halton Hills man, only received minor injuries and has been released from hospital.

Police say they arrived on scene around 1:30 p.m. to find a silver 2001 Nissan Sentra upside down on the side of the road at Sixth Line between Steeles Avenue and 5 Side Road. They believe only one car was involved in the crash.

Officials later added that the Sentra went off the road around 1:10 p.m. and rolled onto the east side of 6th Line. The  woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police news release.

The police investigation closed the Sixth Line between Halton Hills and Milton for several hours. It has since re-opened.
