A woman faces numerous charges after a stolen vehicle crashed into a police cruiser early Friday morning. Police say a car was stolen shortly after 12:30 a.m. near Edmonton Street and St. Mary Avenue.

A short time later, the vehicle was travelling west on Ellice Avenue towards Balmoral Street, where a police cruiser and another vehicle were stopped at the lights. The stolen vehicle accelerated to a high speed and crashed into the cruiser, police said.

Two officers inside the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the stolen vehicle wasn’t injured. Bambi Lyn Goosehead of Bloodvein First Nation faces two charges of assaulting a peace officer and two charges of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving without a licence, theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
