The cash was recovered from their car,” said a police officer. “Harsh Baid from Bidhannagar and Lalit Baid from Girish Park failed to produce any legal document in support of the demonetised currency notes. They were arrested under sections 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property), 413 (Habitually dealing in stolen property), 414 (assisting in concealment of stolen property) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC,” said an official. The two accused are promoters, and they have their construction business, said the police officer. They were about to hand over the notes to another agent to exchange that money, he added.
