Visitors who go on safaris always want to catch a glimpse of the big cats in their natural habitat. But a group of visitors at Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta National Park had their hearts in mouth when they witnessed more just a glimpse of the lions.
The group’s car was chased and attacked by at least three lion in the safari park and the whole incident was captured on film. The visitors, travelling in two separate cars, were stopped by two lions initially, later they jumped onto the car, walked besides it and then chased it.
The three videos of the incident were shared on Twitter by Dhanya Rajendran, Editor-in-Chief of The News Minute showing the lions charging towards the hired cars.
Dhanya wrote in his tweet, “The car had scratches; holes actually. The scary bit was when two lions just blocked it for sometime.”
Dhanya’s daughter was also on the safari tour and said she was freaked out after seeing the lions blocking the car and tweeted that car’s tire and bonnet were hit by the lions as they chased the vehicle. She also said, “apparently its normal in a safari. But never happened in bannerghatta before as I had seen animals almost always sleeping (sic).”
