IYC president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said that the party will be hiring a professional agency to conduct an internal survey before deciding on who will be given tickets for the next Assembly elections. He was speaking at a youth interaction programme organised by PPCC secretary Vinay Mahajan here today. To a query on the criteria to be followed for selecting candidates, Warring said that only those who perform well in the survey will be considered. “The final decision lay with Rahul Gandhi, Capt Amarinder Singh and Ambika Soni but even they will be taking a decision based on the survey report,” he added.Last time the party committed a lot of mistakes due to which the Congress failed to form the government. However, this time the survey will be a clincher. Survey reports of professional agencies seldom go wrong. In this way we will be selecting only the deserving candidates unlike the 2012 elections when some non-deserving candidates were given tickets,” he said.He claimed that he had proof that the state government was manipulating computer software pertaining to the distribution of old age pensions.

“The manipulation was being done in a high tech manner following which beneficiaries loyal to the ruling SAD-BJP combine were given the benefits while those having allegiance to the Congress were being deprived of their dues. Once the Congress comes to power, we will order a vigilance inquiry,” he said.Mahajan urged Warring to take up the issue of the controversial Phina Singh dam project coming up in the adjacent Nurpur (HP). “The day the dam is completed, 70 villages of Dhar block will be rendered without irrigation and drinking water because the flow will be stopped in HP.The project was envisaged when the BJP led government was in power in HP. Now we have a Congress government. I will request AICC chief Sonia Gandhi to speak to Virbhadra Singh to stop its construction,” said Warring.
