Two brothers from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for allegedly raping two minor sisters who had run away from their east Delhi’s Anand Vihar house on June 12, police said on Thursday.
The two accused were arrested from Haldwani in Uttarakhand where they had allegedly kept the minor girls in a hotel room. The girls were also rescued and handed over to their family after their mobile phone location was traced in Haldwani by the east Delhi Police.
The arrested have been identified as Priyansh, 25, an event manager and his brother Nitansh, 26. The police have learnt that the duo had befriended the girls and allegedly sexually abused them on the pretext of providing them jobs with handsome salary.
A senior police officer said the sisters had been living with their uncle and his family at their home in Anand Vihar ever since their father passed away and mother married another man. On June 12, the officer said, the girls fled their uncle’s home and boarded a bus from Anand Vihar inter-state bus terminal, without knowing where the bus was headed to.
“The two got down at Bareilly where they met Priyansh who introduced himself as an event manager and offered them help and jobs. Priyansh introduced the girls to his brother and the four then planned to go Nainital together. They boarded a bus and reached Nainital,” said the officer adding the girls’ uncle had already filed their missing complaint with the east Delhi Police.
