Manchester United fans have expressed their delight with Marouane Fellaini, after the Belgian scored the crucial goal in the team’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United.
Fellaini was brought into the side for the game at Upton Park as manager Louis van Gaal explained that he wanted to cope with the physicality of the Hammers. The clash was the 28-year-old’s first start since the original quarter-final tie on March 13th.
It certainly worked with Fellaini putting in a really impressive performance in the centre of midfield, bursting forward at times and helping out his team defensively.
He was in the right place at the right time to knee in a loose ball and give his side a 2-0 lead – a goal which became crucial when James Tomkins pulled one back for the home side.
The 6ft 4in midfielder has been heavily criticised by Man United fans this season, arguably rightly so, but this was a really impressive display by the ex-Everton man.
