Toyota will today launch the highly anticipated petrol variant of its immensely popular MPV, the Innova Crysta today. Made especially for those who are living in the National Capital region, the petrol derivative comes as a relief for those who wanted to buy this MPV but were not able to because of the current restriction on diesel powered vehicles imposed by the Supreme Court. The Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol will be available in three different trim variants namely the G, V and Z. The entry level G variant will be available with the option of 7 or 8-seater while the other two only with the option of 7-seater. The base variant is expected to come loaded with features like basic multi-information display, 3 airbags and both manual and automatic transmission options. The mid V variant will get LED projector headlamps, height adjustable driver’s seat, touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry and go feature, auto up-down feature and front fog lamps. The top-end Z variant gets seven airbags, cruise control, stability control and hill start assist. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/55R 17 tyres. It also gets leather seats with driver seat electric adjust and touchscreen infotainment system with navigation system. The former will only be made available with a manual gearbox while the latter only with an automatic gearbox.
The engine specifications of the Toyota Innova Crysta include a 2.7-litre, DOHC, 4-cylinder petrol engine which pumps out 166Bhp at 5,200rpm and a peak torque of 245Nm at 4,000rpm. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be made available. The former will be a 5-speed gearbox while the latter will be a 6 speed one. The combination is expected to give a mileage of 8kmpl in the city traffic and 10kmpl when cruising on the highway.The production of the Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol has already started a while back and dealerships are currently taking pre-bookings for the same. The popularity and demand of this MPV is such that even before the launch it commands a waiting period which currently stands at 6 to 8 weeks. The Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol prices are expected to be about 1.5lakh cheaper than the diesel derivative. Going by that it is most likely that they will fall in-between the bracket of INR 12.5lakh to INR 20lakh
