If there’s one thing that’s for certain about Cate Blanchett’s red carpet style, is that it’s always far from dull.
And as the Australian actress stepped out at the Tony Awards in New York on Sunday night, she opted for an interesting choice to say the least.
The 47-year-old wore a black and white Louis Vuitton gown with a contrasting bustier detail across her chest.
A look plucked straight off the Autumn ready-to-wear 2016 runway, the dress was a combination of fabrics layered on top of one another, finishing in an asymmetric line.
The grunge-influenced frock also featured leather sleeves, and she added to the theme of the look with large metal earrings and thick black eyeliner.
Pinned to the left side of Cate’s chest was a silver, translucent ribbon to remember the victims of recent the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida.
