“Possibly, the tigress was killed by a male tiger in a territorial fight,” said Kanha Tiger Reserve’s Field Director J S Chouhan.A tigress was killed in the Soopkhar range of the famous Kanha Tiger Reserve in a suspected territorial fight with another feline, a forest official said today.
The carcass of the tigress, aged about seven-nine years, was spotted by the beat guard following which he informed the senior forest officials about it, Kanha Tiger Reserve’s Field Director J S Chouhan said.“Possibly, the tigress was killed by a male tiger in a territorial fight,” he said and added that after she was killed, the carnivores completely ate her flesh.
