Three more persons have been arrested by the police in the murder case of Balwinder Kaur of Ghawaddi, who was an accused in a case of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.Accused Harbans Singh of Kailay village (Nabha), Gurvinder Singh and Jagjit Singh of Sangrur were produced before a local court along with two previously arrested accused.Assistant District Attorney SS Hayder sought police remand on the ground that the accused had received funds from abroad, which hinted towards a larger conspiracy and required time for interrogation.On the other hand, a battery of lawyers including Rajwant Singh, GS Sodhi, Jaspal Singh Manjpur opposed the extension of the police remand of accused Gurpreet Singh and Nihal Singh.They pleaded that the police had shown the recovery of two pistols along with a motorcycle used in the crime from the accused. So, there was no need of the extention, they said. Judicial Magistrate Lovejinder Kaur remanded all accused in police custody till August 7.Balwinder was arrested for allegedly desecrating Guru Granth Sahib on October 19, 2015. After about two months, she was released on bail.
