A murder investigation has begun after a man died from head injuries following a “brutal” attack. Two Polish men were beaten and knocked unconscious in The Stow in Harlow, Essex, at about 23:35 BST on Saturday.

One of them, a 40-year-old from the town died in hospital on Monday. The other man, aged 43, and also from Harlow was treated and released.

Five teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the attacks and remain in custody.
