A nine-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car as he crossed the road. The fatal collision happened in Whalley New Road in Blackburn at 10.55pm on Thursday.

A 25-year-old driver of a white BMW 4 Series has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
