A teenager has been charged with uttering threats online against McNally and J. Percy Page high schools, Edmonton police say.
The Cyber Crimes Investigation Detail and School Resource Officer Unit collaborated on the investigation that ended in the arrest of the teen Wednesday night, police say.
Sgt. Emuel Chan of the EPS School Resource Officer Unit will speak to media later this morning about recent arrests involving school-related threats.
On Wednesday a teen was arrested after an online threat forced a lockdown for “precautionary reasons” at Harry Ainlay High School.
Police said there were other students, or individuals, participating in the online conversation containing the threat. The threat targeted an administrative staffer, police say.
