Tata Tiago is based on the modified XO platform that also underlines the Indica Vista eV2 and will find its place between the Nano and the Bolt hatch. The front façade gets new wider mesh grille with honey comb design, swept back headlights, sharp edgy bumpers and fog lamps adds elegance to the profile. Coming to the sides, Tiago resembles in terms of design with the elder sibling Indica. The rear profile is however simple with horizontal tail lights. In terms of dimensions, Tata’s newest offering measures 3746mm in length, 1647mm in width, 1535mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2400mm.
On the inside, the cabin looks more premium as well as spacious compared to other hatchbacks from Tata. Moreover, the company has smartly equipped with about 22 storage spaces inside that serves every kind of storage needs. On the feature front, it gets a new Multi Information Display system, 8-speaker ConnectNext infotainment system by HARMAN, smartphone enabled Turn by Turn Navigation app and Juke Car app competent of connecting up to 10 smartphones on the go.
Under the hood, Tata Tiago is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options – 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and 1.0-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine easily produces 85PS of max power along with 115Nm of peak torque while the oil burner is good for power figures of 70PS and 140Nm. Both the engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
As far as the pricing is concerned, Tata Tiago is expected to be priced in the range of INR 4 lakh – INR 6 lakh. On the other hand, Ford Figo is priced in the range of INR 4.46 lakh – INR 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
