Sushant Singh Rajput, who is basking in the success of his last release ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ has decided to put his fame to better use. The actor has decided to turn producer and the idea behind this move is simple – Sushant wants to back small budget and short films with good content. Confirming his production plans to a daily, the actor said that he intends to set up a system where he will read new small budget scripts and help producers to make films for digital platforms.
When asked about the reason behind this step, Sushant revealed that he comes from a modest background where money had been an important criterion in making any life decision. Motivated by his humble background, the actor had decided early on that he will earn enough money so that it becomes an irrelevant factor in his life. And now that he is in a secure position financially, he wants to help filmmakers who don’t have the privilege to back their own films. Sushant said, “If there’s anything any filmmaker has which I can relate to, I will sponsor the making of the film.”
