What has worked in Sultan’s favour is that for the first time ever Sallu has tried to come out of his comfort zone. His vulnerability coupled with the substantial story made Sultan a must watch! No wonder even Bhai’s fiercest critics applauded the film even when the fans are busy cheering the repeat value of the movie.
Film Trade pundit Taran Adarsh dished out the figures of the third week of the film at the box office. “#Sultan [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr. Total: ₹ 280.10 cr. India biz.” He had also given the day wise collection of the film in its second week. “#Sultan [Week 2] Fri 7.43 cr, Sat 11.46 cr, Sun 15.18 cr, Mon 4.08 cr, Tue 3.72 cr, Wed 3.42 cr, Thu 3.51 cr. Total: ₹ 277.96 cr.” tweeted Adarsh.
It would be interesting to note that Aamir Khan’s Dhoom had netted Rs 284 crore in toto! And now Sultan is inching closer to that mighty figure. The fact that Sultan has raked in Rs 500 crore in terms of world wide collection has already put the film in a different league altogether. And now a certain Shorty Khan must be feeling the heat!
