Sultan‘s collections have set new benchmarks and new records which everyone will find difficult to break. Although P.K.‘s collection seems too far (340 cr), there is one other Aamir Khan film that Sultan seems poised to take over and that’s Dhoom 3. The Salman Khan film has earned 274. 45 cr as of now while Dhoom 3’s lifetime collection was 284. 27 cr. There is only a minuscule difference between the two and once it goes past this total, it will become the third highest Bollywood film ever after P.K. and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted the fresh figures of the film saying, “#Sultan [Week 2] Fri 7.43 cr, Sat 11.46 cr, Sun 15.18 cr, Mon 4.08 cr, Tue 3.72 cr, Wed 3.42 cr. Total: ₹ 274.45 cr. From a 15. 18 cr second Sunday, the film’s numbers have only gone down. But we don’t think it will take the film long to pass that number since it is still running at many theatres. Check out the tweet hereSultan made the fastest 500 crore in just 12 days, worldwide gross. It was also hoped that the film will be able to cross P.K.’s numbers as well but it doesn’t look so. So it was expected to go near P.K. But it as of yet couldn’t break Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘s record as well. And the way numbers are dwindling, it will be difficult for the film to make that kind of money. But whatever may be the total, Sultan has given 2016 its biggest blockbuster that it has been waiting for long. Trust only Salman Khan to come to industry’s rescue.
