Distributing blue cards among the new beneficiaries under the Atta-Dal scheme, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal here today termed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders of the party “atheist”, saying they didn’t respect any religion.
There are already 60,000 beneficiaries under the atta-dal scheme in Barnala district, while 13,000 new cards are being prepared and distributed now.
Sukhbir termed the “sewa” (voluntary religious service), performed by Kejriwal at the Golden Temple today, a “drama”, saying they first committed “acts of desecration” and then performed “sewa” to seek forgiveness.
He warned the people that in case they voted for AAP, the farmers would suffer as neither their wheat crop nor paddy would be procured smoothly as AAP leaders would continue to fight against the Centre as per their habit. On the other hand, the SAD was a party of farmers, labourers and down-trodden who always thought about their welfare.
Sukhbir also lashed out at the Congress, especially its state president Capt Amarinder Singh, saying during his previous five-year tenure he had done nothing.
Meanwhile, in Fatehgarh Sahib, Sukhbir distributed blue cards among newly identified beneficiaries under the Atta-Dal scheme. The beneficiaries and SAD workers and leaders waited for him for three hours. The function finished in 10 minutes.
