SRK’s Raees that was slated for a release on Eid, was expected to lock horns at the box office with Salman Khan sports drama Sultan.
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has finally the revealed the reason behind shifting the dates of his much-awaited political drama ‘Raees’. The film that was slated for a release on Eid 2016, was expected to lock horns at the box office with Salman Khan sports drama ‘Sultan’. However, much to the fans disappointment, this hightly anticipated clash was averted by SRK shifting his dates to January 27, 2017.
It wasn’t long before rumours ran wild stating that SRK took a step back, because his previous two films- Dilwale and Fan- failed to hit the mark at the box office. In an interview with a leading news channel, the 50-year-old actor revealed that the shooting of the film got delayed by about eight to nine months because of the injury he sustained while filming the same.
Talking about Salman’s flick ‘Sultan’, Shah Rukh said, “Then ‘ Sultan’ was ready for release along with ‘ Raees.’ Two big films on the same day. So, we all decided that if you are completely ready, we can accommodate.”
The actor further said since now the shooting of the movie has been completed, it is ready to hit the theatres on January, 26 2017.
Rumours of Shah Rukh Khan becoming the brand ambassador for tech giant Apple, have also been squashed. There was buzz about Apple planning to rope-in the 50-year-old actor as its brand ambassador in India and the tech giant was set to make a public announcement in this regard during the launch of next generation iPhones.
However, an insider, however, told ANI the claims are untrue as Apple doesn’t need a brand ambassador in India or anywhere else.
The rumours made the headlines when King Khan hosted a star-studded bash for Apple’s CEO Tim Cook at his residence last month.
