The province’s Special Investigations Unit is trying to identify the victim of a police-involved shooting last month. Police were called to a rail corridor near Starview Lane, east of Weston Rd. and south of Sheppard Ave. W., on June 17 when a confrontation occurred resulting in the man being shot and killed.
Investigators revealed Wednesday that they still haven’t been able to identify the man.
They said he was known by the following identities: John Doe, Roy Norman, Chung Nu, and Jonathan Grant.
The SIU released three photos of the man and asked the public to help ID him.
Last month, an SIU spokesman said officers were trying to arrest the man for trespassing under the Railway Safety Act when the shooting occurred.
Sources told The Toronto Sun at the time that the man was armed with a knife.
However, information about the exact circumstances of the confrontation, the man’s background and whether the man was armed hasn’t been released by the SIU.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
