Sony launches a6300 mirrorless camera in India for Rs. 74,990

Sony’s a6300 mirrorless camera has been making waves across internet, with photographers all over YouTube going weak in the knees. Sony has officially launched the Alpha-series camera in India for Rs. 74,990 and the device comes with a 16mm to 50mm lens.

Sony claimed the camera carries a new 24.3 MP APS-C sensor, which employs copper wiring in its system, resulting in better light capturing capabilities. The image processing is done by its BIONZ X, which now features a new image processing algorithm.

Sony also highlighted that the a6300 features the world’s fastest autofocus (AF) system. The system employs 425 phase detection AF points. The same system, according to Sony, can be found in their full-frame a7R II and A7 II cameras. It builds on the 4D FOCUS system found on the a6000 and combines high-speed phase detection AF with extremely accurate contrast AF.

The camera can shoot up to 11 frames a second in continuous mode, which drops to 8 fps in Live View mode, where users can see the image on the LCD screen or the viewfinder. The camera also boasts of an ISO sensitivity range between 100 and 51,200.

On the video front, the camera shoots 4K video at a bit rate of 100 Mbps and also includes several features that are now considered industry standards for video like time codes and Zebra functionalities.

Featuring a reinforced lens mount, the camera is compatible with Sony’s range of E-mount as well as A-mount lenses (via an adapter).

The camera’s chassis is crafted with a magnesium alloy and includes Wi-Fi and NFC for wireless data transfer.
