Even as CM Parkash Singh Badal today claimed he wasn’t denied a “siropa” at the Golden Temple yesterday, SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar’s stated otherwise.Makkar today said: “Sewadar Balbir Singh’s act refusing a ‘siropa’ to Faquar E-Quam Parkash singh Badal amounted to gross indiscipline.”He said a few minutes before the CM’s arrival, Darbar Sahib’s deputy manager issued directions to Balbir Singh to give a “siropa” to Badal. “But he refused to do so. We can’t spare anyone for indiscipline. No one can even think of such a blunder. The CM has contributed a lot towards the Sikh Panth and Akal Takht,” Makkar said.He said if Balbir Singh failed to join his duty as granthi at Gurdwara Machhiwara in 10 days, his services would be terminated.“The reply given by the ‘ardasia’ that his conscience did not allow him to present a ‘siropa’ to the CM or the Akal Purakh (almighty) gave him the order to do so is unacceptable,” he added.
