One man was grazed with a bullet and another was assaulted in the ByWard Market overnight, then minutes later, a man was stabbed just five blocks away near the University of Ottawa.
The shooting incident happened in the area of George and Dalhousie streets just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, paramedics said in a media release.
A 39-year-old man was grazed with a bullet on the ankle. The injury was minor and he was able to walk, paramedics said.
A man in his 20s suffered “injuries consistent with an assault,” including head and hand abrasions.
No arrests have been made.
Then, about 10 minutes later, a 26-year-old man was stabbed at the intersection of Laurier Avenue E. and Nicholas Street. He was taken to The Ottawa Hospital’s Civic campus trauma unit in serious but stable condition.
Ottawa police are investigating both incidents.
