A pair of shooting incidents in Regina on Wednesday morning has prompted a police investigation of a possible attempted murder.   Police were called to the 1400 block of Robinson Street at around 7:40 a.m. CST, after they received a call that someone had shot out a window in a home.

No one inside the house was injured, but police said they recovered a projectile lodged in a wall, and believe it was from a real firearm.

Ten minutes after the first phone call, police were called to a Regina hospital after a man, 30, came in with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said it’s not yet known if the two incidents are connected, but are treating the incident in which the man was shot as an attempted murder.

He remains in hospital getting treatment for his injuries.

String of shooting incidents

The incidents come after a spate of other apparent shootings in the past week in the city.

Another home on the 800 block of Garnet Street had a window shot out on Saturday morning. On Monday, a man was in critical condition after being shot in Regina close to the downtown on the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue.

Police said it’s not known whether there is a connection between these previous incidents and the two on Wednesday.
