Party spokesperson Sanjay Bajpai informed that Dikshit would arrive in Lucknow Saturday and leave for Unnao Sunday morning, where she would garland the statues of her father-in-law and veteran Congress leader Uma Shankar Dikshit and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shashtri. She would also be meeting workers and attending different programme in Unnao for the entire day. After Unnao, Dikshit would camp in Lucknow on August 8 and 9.
Bajpai also informed that “Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Yatra” would start from Tamil Nadu on August 9, and reach Varanasi on August 14 and Allahabad on August 15. From there it would move to Amethi before reaching Rae Bareli on August 16. After covering Lucknow, it would reach Agra on August 18 before leaving for Gurgaon.
The yatra, which would cover the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, would conclude at Delhi on August 19 in the presence of party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi.
The yatra is taken out by Tamil Nadu Congress every year.
