Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Tuesday that Pakistan is standing at a crossroad and the nation would regret for years if it did not choose the correct path.

While delivering an address at Rawalpindi Judicial Complex, Qureshi said that lawyers’ efforts to safeguard the law and the constitution were commendable. Rawalpindi bar played a crucial role for the freedom of judiciary.

He requested lawyers to join Pakistan Tejreek-e-Insaf’s movement to rid the country of corruption. Qureshi said that PTI chairman, Imran Khan presented himself for accountability while ruling party’s leaders are reluctant giving rise to doubts.

Investigation departments were used by different institutions of the government for their purposes, he added.

It is because of that PTI demanded a probe led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Anwar Zaheer Jamali and taking help of internationally acclaimed forensic experts for audit of the premier’s wealth, Qureshi said.

The opposition party’s vice-chairman said that accountability bureau was used for political gains in the past.
