12:55pm: The CNX Nifty hit the 8,900 mark for the first time in 18 months led by gains in auto and banking stocks after weaker-than-expected US non-payroll data reduced investor fears of a Federal Reserve rate hike in the near term.

12:20pm: Pennar Engineered Building Systems Ltd rises 7.5% to Rs.184.90 after the company said it got orders worth Rs.203 crore.

11:15am: Atlanta Ltd rises 11% to Rs.68.40. The company said in a notice to BSE that it has Rs.1,600 crores of arbitration awards and it expects to get Rs.1,200 crore after rule change on arbitration. The company also said it expect to repay Rs.900 crore debt by this fiscal year.

11:00am: Auto stocks are trading higher. Tata Motors Ltd rises 2.5%, Maruti Suzuki India 2.1%, Hero MotoCorp Ltd 1.1%, Mahindra and Mahindra 1%, Bajaj Auto Ltd 1%.

10:50am: BSE Sensex rises 281.36 points, or 1.01%, to 28,813.47, while the Nifty is up 82.30 points, or 0.94%, at 8,891.95.

10:45am: Patel Engineering hits 20% upper circuit for the second sessions. The stock gained 69% in last five days.

10:40am: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd rises 4.2% to Rs.82.60 after the company reported a 78% increase in its net profit to Rs.720.28 crore in June quarter against Rs.405.52 crore a year ago. Total income fell 15.1% to Rs.11,820.22 crore.

10:30am: Punj Lloyd Ltd rises 4.5% to Rs.26.75. The stock gained over 34% in last five sessions. The company said in a notice to BSE that its solution to upgrade Zu 23 air defence gun after field evaluation was qualified by the ministry of defence. The commercial bid has been opened and the company is the provisional lowest bidder.

10:25am: Telecom stocks are trading lower. Idea Cellular falls 1.6%, Bharti Airtel Ltd 1.5%, Reliance Communications 0.4%.

10:10am: SPML Infra Ltd rises 13% to Rs.88.05. The company said its debt to fall after government decision on arbitration. The company expects to get 75% of Rs.250 crore of arbitration award.

10:05am: Unitech Ltd rises 2.5% to Rs.5.38. The Delhi high court has directed Unitech Ltd to open escrow accounts in its delayed residential projects in order to protect the interest of home-buyers and a court appointed commissioner to monitor the same, the realty firm informed NSE on Monday morning.

10:00am: DEN Networks Ltd rises 5.1% to Rs.78.50 after the company said its board approved scheme of arrangement between DEN Networks Ltd and a wholly owned subsidiary company for demerger of broadband/internet service provider business.

9:55am: Monsanto India Ltd rises 3.5% to Rs.2,378. Bayer AG raised its offer to buy Monsanto Co. and create a new global leader in seeds and pesticides, though the German firm said the higher price depended on achieving a “negotiated transaction.”

9:50am: Mindtree Ltd falls 6.7% to Rs.513 after the company said it sees revenue declining in the second quarter due to cross-currency movements, project cancellations and slower ramp-ups in a few large clients across verticals and continued weakness in its UK based unit Bluefin.

9:45am: BSE Sensex rises 254.81 points, or 0.89%, to 28,786.92, while the Nifty is up 66 points, or 0.75%, at 8,876.00.

9:35am: Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd falls 10% to Rs.1,070.10 after the company reported a net profit of Rs.18.99 crore in June quarter, down 31% from Rs.27.57 crore a year ago. Total income rose 6.7% to Rs.612 crore.

9:30am: Inox Wind Ltd falls 7% to Rs.178.70 after the company reported a net profit of Rs.18.11 crore in June quarter, down 74% from Rs.68.81 crore a year ago. Total income fell 36% to Rs.376.76 crore.

9:20am: The rupee opened at 66.55 per dollar and touched a high of 66.51, a level last seen on 9 May. At 9.20am, the home currency was trading at 66.52 per dollar, up 0.46%, the maximum gain since 25 May, from its previous close of 66.83.

9:10am: Asian shares edged up on Tuesday as investors awaited the Reserve Bank of Australia’s policy meeting in which it is expected to keep interest rates steady.
