Sensex closes up 186 points


BSE Sensex rises 186.14 points to close at 28,599.03; Nifty gains 37.30 points to end at 8,779.853:50pm: The S&P BSE Sensex rises 186.14 points to close at 28,599.03; Nifty gains 37.30 points to end at 8,779.85. Infosys shares close up 1.82% at Rs1,060.35 after the company said in a notice to BSE that it will comment on business outlook on 14 October in an analyst call and also consider paying an interim dividend.

2: 59pm: The S&P BSE Sensex is trading higher by 220.43 points, or 0.78%, to 28,633.32, while the 50-share CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) is up 46.30 points, or 0.53%, to 8,791.15.

2:30pm: Sensex gains 163.59 points, or 0.58%, to 28,576.48, while the Nifty rises 32.25 points, or 0.37%, to 8,774.80.

2:20pm: Healthcare stocks are trading higher. Wockhardt up 11.4%, Glenmark Pharma up 3.4%, Ipca Laboratories rises 2.4%, GSK COnsumer 2.3%, Divi’s Lab 1.9%, Marksans Pharma 1.6%

2:10pm: Tata Steel Ltd falls 1% to Rs.363. The stock fell four out of five trading sessions and down 10.3% in this period. So far this year it gained 40%.

2:00pm: Tata Motors Ltd falls 0.7% to Rs.555.90 The stock fell six out of seven trading sessions and down 6% in this period.

1:50pm: Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corp Ltd rises 6.1% to Rs.243.50. According to Bloomberg report, the government has said in a Supreme Court that it is trying to resolve Deepak Fertilisers gas issue. The court will here its gas case after four weeks.

1:40pm: MBL Infrastructures Ltd hit upper circuit for the eight consecutive sessions and gained 77.14% in this period. The stock was trading at Rs.111.60 on BSE, up 5% from previous close.

1:30pm: Reliance Defence and Engineering Ltd rises 5% to Rs.59.45 after CNBC TV report said that the company may eligible for defence projects.

1:20pm: Adani group companies are trading higher. Adani Ports rises 2%, Adani Power rises 1.5%, Adani Enterprise Ltd rise 1%, Adani Transmission Ltd rises 1.5%.

1:10pm: Ashok Leyland Ltd falls 0.5% to Rs.81.10. The stock fell five out of six trading sessions and down 8.4% in this period.

1:00pm: Themis Medicare Ltd rises 16% to Rs.648.80 after the company said in a notice to BSE that it will partner Nevakar LLC for developing and commercialize injected products for US.

12:50pm: Sugar stocks are trading higher. Shree Renuka Sugars rises 4%, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar rises 3.6%, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd rises 8.8%, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd rises 6.7%, Bajaj Hindustan Sugar Ltd rises 4.2%, Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd 7.5%, Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd 6.2%, Mawana Sugars Ltd 10%.

12:40pm: BSE Sensex gains 319.71 points, or 1.13%, to 28,732.60, while the Nifty 50 rises 92.60 points, or 1.06%, to 8,835.15.

12:30pm: Anil Ambani group companies are trading higher. Reliance Infrastructure Ltd rises 4.8%, Reliance Capital Ltd rises 2.5%, Reliance Power Ltd rises 1.4%, Reliance Communications Ltd rises 0.7%, Reliance Defence and Engineering Ltd rises 1%.

12:20pm: Hinduja Foundries Ltd falls 17% to Rs.36.70. The stock fell 35% in last two trading sessions.

12:10pm: Reliance Industries Ltd hits 27-month high. In intraday, RIL hit a high of Rs.1,084.25, a level last seen on 12 June 2014. The stock gains 6 out of 8 sessions and up 7% in this period. The stock was trading at Rs.1,083 on BSE, up 2%, from previous close.

10:50am: BSE Sensex gains 349.67 points, or 1.23%, to 28,762.56, while the Nifty 50 rises 97 points, or 1.11%, to 8,839.55.

10:40am: Hero MotoCorp. Ltd rises 2.4% to Rs.3,606.75. Hero FinCorp. Ltd, the retail lending arm of Hero MotoCorp. Ltd, said on Thursday that it had raised Rs.1,000 crore, as it seeks to expand its loan book more than four-fold by 2020. The non-banking financial company (NBFC) raised Rs.570 crore from (PE) firm ChrysCapital Advisors Llp; Rs.132 crore from Credit Suisse Group AG; and Rs.300 crore from Hero Group.

10:30am: Auto stocks gain. Maruti Suzuki India rises 1.5%, Hero MotoCorp rises 2.4%, Bajaj Auto rises 1.5%, Tata Motors Ltd rises 1.4%, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd rises 1%, Eicher Motors Ltd rises 1%, TVS Motors Co Ltd rises 1%.

10:20am: Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd rises 4.6% to Rs.125 after Reliance Mutual fund bought 3.97 million shares in the company via block deal.

10:10am: Tube Investments of India Ltd rises 1.6% to Rs.597.45 after the company said in a notice to BSE that it entered into Joint Venture with Absolute Speciality to open Bicycle cafes in India under the Ciclo Cafe brand.

10:00am: Redington India Ltd rises 4.1% to Rs.118.20. Apple has slashed prices of the previous generation handsets—iPhone 6S and 6S Plus—by up to Rs.22,000.

9:50am: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 292.37 points, or 1.03%, to 28,702.06, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 84.75 points, or 0.97%, to 8,827.30.

9:40am: The rupee on Friday strengthens against the US dollar at 66.86 per dollar, up 0.23% from its previous close of 67.03, on improvement in trade deficit data.

9:35am: The 10-year bond yield stood at 6.88%, from its Thursday’s close of 6.883%.

9:30am: The euro slips to $1.1242 from $1.1248 while the dollar rises to ¥102.08 from ¥101.97.

9:20am: Benchmark US crude loses 23 cents to $43.68 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude falls 24 cents to $46.35 per barrel.

9:10am: Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gains 0.4% to 16,468.22 and Australia’s S&P ASX 200 adds 1.1% to 5,298.90. Shares are higher in Indonesia and Singapore. Markets are closed in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

9:00am: Stocks edge higher in Asia on Friday, with many regional markets closed for mid-autumn holidays. Investors are watching to see if the Bank of Japan opts to ease its lax monetary policy further at a policy meeting next week.
