Sanford school fires causes $2 million in damages

Elementary school students in Sanford get an extended summer holidays. Flames engulfed the school, southwest of Winnipeg, on Thursday, causing two million dollars in damage.

The school’s roof was being worked on when the fire first broke out.

Students will now head back to school on September 12.

The Red River Valley School division is working on relocating classes and trying to keep students and staff in the community.
