Youth Akali Dal leaders today alleged the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to be corruption-free, had appointed its “graft-tainted” Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha candidate Yamini Gomar a member of the national executive.Yamini is facing allegations that she submitted fake election expenditure bills to the tune of the tune of Rs 6.84 lakh to the Election Commissioner.Almost two years since the elections had been held, Iqbal Singh, AAP ex-volunteer, has recently filed a complaint to the Punjab DGP, who further marked it to the Director Bureau of Investigation and then downwards to the Hoshiarpur SSP.Since the bills were of Roxy Printing Press, Sangrur, an inquiry was forwarded to the district police there. The Sangrur police have so far reported that the printing press owner had admitted that two bills — number 320 dated April 19, 2014, for Rs 65,000 and another 324 of next date for Rs 1.28 lakh — were genuine while two other handmade bills — 92 A and 92 B of April 26, 2014, for Rs 4.36 lakh and Rs 2.49 lakh — did not have any concern with his press. The police have recorded Yamini’s statement in which she has mentioned that she had submitted her expenditure details to the ECI.She said even the ECI had no objection to her submissions. “Since the complainant in the case had been suspended by the AAP on disciplinary grounds, he was trying to settle scores with her,” she said in a statement to the police. In a press conference, Doaba YAD chief Sarabjot Singh Sabi, who too hails from Hoshiarpur, said besides fake bills, it had also been found that in the vehicle expenditure put up by Yamini to the ECI, the same vehicle number had been shown for a car and a gypsy which she or her supporters had been using.Meanwhile, Yamini refuted the allegations.
