The cultural department of the Consulate General of The Russian Federation in South India will organise a Russian education fair on May 9 (Monday) at Hotel Madurai Residency here from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Eight leading Russian government educational institutions, including those offering medical and engineering courses, will participate in the fair, for which the entry is free. Of the 400 medical seats available across various institutions of Russia, five medical seats would be offered on full scholarship, said Mikhail J. Gorbatov, Director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC), here on Saturday. Likewise, five seats for nuclear science and 10 for computer science courses would be offered on full scholarship.

To join the undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, students should have a minimum of 50 per cent marks in relevant core subjects in school or under-graduation, said, C. Ravichandran, Managing Director of Study Abroad. The eligibility for SC, ST and OBC students would be 40 per cent, he added.
