Police responded at 1:45 a.m. to a 911 call about a sudden death in the home.
Circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain unclear, and police continue to treat her death as suspicious in nature, the RCMP said in a news release on Monday.
“The investigation is ongoing at this time and RCMP continue to secure the scene. The Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section continues to work closely with the BC Coroners Service,” said spokesman Const. Jesse O’Donaghey. “An autopsy is expected to be completed in the coming days, and investigators are awaiting its results to aid in determining an exact cause of Rita’s death.
“Our investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information surrounding Rita LeHockey’s death or the time leading up to her death,” O’Donaghey said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Sgt. Julie Rockwell of the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-470-6201 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
