A man wanted for murder in Laval, Quebec, was arrested in Kitchener Tuesday. Laval Police Service, with the assistance of Waterloo Regional police, arrested 29-year-old Mitchell Robert Cousins for the June shooting death of Ferdinando Belmonte in Laval i.

Belmonte’s body was found on the sidewalk outside a residence in Laval just before 8:00 p.m. on June 28, 2016.

Police say search warrants turned up several pieces of evidence and Waterloo Region major crime unit will be interviewing witnesses.  The investigation also continues in Lava and Montreal. Mitchell Cousins has been charged with murder, with other charges pending.
