Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Chairman Imran Khan on Friday left his home for the party’s protest march in Raiwind. It was learnt that Imran Khan will reach the venue of the protest by a helicopter.

Preparations for PTI’s Raiwind March today are in full swing. The stage has been set and workers have begun arriving at the venue.

Road blockades have forced over 150 private and public schools to close down. School owners at Adda Plot claimed that they called off classes after receiving phone calls from the education department.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Zaeem Qadri said that foolproof security arrangements had been made for Imran Khan’s “circus”, a name which he gave to the rally.

Speaking to the media he said, “Imran Khan wants to play his film and divert the attention of the nation from other pressing issues.”

He added that the rally faced terrorist threats. “Enemies of the country are looking to sabotage Operation Zarb-e-Azb.”

He added that the government had focused its energies to deal with India.

The PTI’s Raiwind march has received a lot of flak from the ruling PML-N. Workers and supporters of the PML-N have been holding demonstrations against the march on Raiwind, saying they would protect the area which also includes the premier’s residence.

The PTI is holding the march to pressurizing the Prime Minister into coming out clean against allegations over offshore accounts linked to his family named in the Panama Papers
