Allahabad:Congress Chief Minister candidate for the UP polls Sheila Dikshit, on Wednesday, said Congress workers were demanding Priyanka Vadra to join active politics, but Priyanka would take her own decision at the right time.

She further maintained “not only party workers but demand of Priyanka Vadra is also being raised by the people of state as well”. The people of the state, who had given many Prime Ministers to this country, now want change in UP and for that, Congress is making sincere efforts to connect with masses through yatra. The former Delhi chief minister and party’s CM nominee was here in Sangam city to lead the much hyped ” 27 Saal UP Behaal” yatra. Dikshit, meanwhile, said “party would bank on winning candidates and would surely form its government in 2017 state assembly elections”. ” In the past 27 years, industries in Kanpur, Kannauj, Mooradabad, Varanasi and Lucknow had taken a back seats as non – congress governments had involved them in caste and religion based politics’ said Dikshit adding “people of the state now want change and the response being received by the “27 Saal UP Behaal Yatra” reflects that party would form its government in UP” added she.

” UP was known as well administered state during Congress government’s regime but the starling fact was newly civil services recruits don’t want postings in UP” claimed former Delhi CM adding ” Congress is the only party that believes in fulfilling its promises”. ” People should be aware from BJP, SP and BSP and its only Congress that makes its promises fulfilled” said Dikshit adding ” since rival parties came to know that I was being made the CM nomiee for Congress party, they were trying to involve my name in scandals that had nothing to do with me” she claimed.
Meanwhile, Dr, Sanjay Singh, chairman campaign committee for party, said ” non congress governments had nothing to do with public welfare programmes and policies and rivals camps like BJP, SP and BSP only believes in vote-bank politics. He claimed ” people of the state now want change and Congress will form its government in next assembly elections”. Replying to a question, Singh said ” we have also learnt from mistakes and efforts are also being made to come over shortcomings”.
