Prisma for Android might soon be a reality. The app, which lets users convert pictures in to work of arts, has taken the Internet by storm. Prisma is only a month old but the app has already topped iOS app charts in several countries with over 1 million daily users, thanks to its artistic filters. Prisma, in a Facebook post, had announced, “Prisma for Android is coming ! Sign up for our Newsletter 💌 to be the first to know about the release. The company rolled out the Android beta version of the app for user’s feedback but took it down soon after. Prisma, however, promises the official Prisma app will be launched for Google Play Store later this month. “A big thanks goes to everyone who has managed to try our beta for Android. We have collected enough feedback and had to close it,” Prisma said in a Facebook post.Prisma co-founder and CEO Alexey Moiseenkov hinted the company is working on new features, including filters for videos. Moiseenkov posted a Facebook Live video with a black and white Prisma filter. According to a TechCrunch report, this might suggest that Facebook could acquire them. “When asked if it will buy Prisma, Facebook tells me “We don’t comment on rumors and speculation,” says the report.Prisma relies on neural networks and artificial intelligence in order to turn photos into art. The app’s concept is pretty simple: You upload a picture from the Camera roll or take one, then just tap next and start choosing the filter that appeals most to you.The filters are named – Impression, Curtain, Running in the storm, Mondrian, etc and you can choose to define the intensity of a filter that you apply. The app takes a couple of seconds to apply the filter, but the wait is worth it delivers some stunning results. Prisma app has been developed by Prisma Labs.Prisma, just within a month of its launch, has gained immense popularity. The filter-packed photos are all over social networking sites, including Facebook and Instagram. The popularity of the app will only grow with the company working on new features and planning to launch it for Android soon.
