The film saw around 25 percent occupancy on Friday (September 16) morning but improved slowly. The strong praise soon converted into box office earnings and a good growth was seen in the collections on day two.
The film’s first weekend collections too are expected to be massive and according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh the film might see a collection of Rs 20 cr [+/-] by Sunday. Day 3 is really crucial for the film and a further upswing is expected.
Most viewers have called the film hard-hitting and moving. It is doing outstanding business at plexes and thus the earning jumped manifold. Going by the collections, the film is in the ‘PINK of Health’ at the box office.
It has already got rave reviews from critics and Bollywood celebrities alike. The film is connecting with its viewers as it tells a powerful story of daily struggles of working women across the country.
The latest collections of the film, tweeted by Taran, reads as: “#Pink Fri 4.32 cr, Sat 7.65 cr. Total: ₹ 11.97 cr. India biz… OUTSTANDING at plexes… ₹ 20 cr [+/-] weekend on the cards… ???”
He also added, “#Pink is in the PINK OF HEALTH at the BO, as biz jumps manifold on Sat… Witnesses REMARKABLE growth… Expect further upswing today [Sun].”
Pink, a courtroom drama, is getting incredible attention and immense praise from all corners. The film has been co-produced by Shoojit Sircar and directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. It is a message-based drama on sexual crimes against women.
Amitabh, who plays a lawyer in the film, took to Twitter on Sunday to talk about the appreciation the film is receiving. The actor tweeted, “#PINK .. the motivational poem for women at end credits of the film.”
