A small plane has crashed northwest of Kamloops, B.C., at Green Lake while trying to land on an air strip on Thursday. “During landing the pilot ran into difficulties and the airplane crashed,” said Bill Yearwood with the Transportation Safety Board, adding that the plane crashed into trees near the runway.

Yearwood said the plane was a privately registered aircraft with just the pilot and the passenger onboard.

B.C. Ambulance said it responded to a call that came in shortly before noon on Thursday; it sent three ground and one air ambulance to the scene.

One patient was taken to hospital in critical condition.
