Two police officers were injured by a knife-wielding man Thursday afternoon when they were called to a domestic disturbance at a home in Burlington, Ont. Halton Region police say the officers were “immediately attacked” once they entered the home. One officer was pushed to the ground and stabbed in the head, the second officer was bitten on the arm while trying to intervene and a family member was also injured during the melee.

Police say officers used a stun gun to subdue the 22-year-old man and take him into custody. He is being held for a psychiatric assessment.

All involved are expected to recover from their injuries.
