Calgary police have charged a 69-year-old man with numerous sex offences, alleging he inappropriately touched three children at a day home in the community of Midnapore over a span of three years.
Kenneth Alfred Jenkinson faces three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual interference.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between 2013 and 2016 at a private, unlicensed day home in the 170 block of Midglen Place S.E.
Police said Jenkinson lives at the day home with the operator of the facility.Authorities became involved after a young child told his or her parents about being inappropriately touched by a man while staying at the day home.
Investigators are not publicly identifying the age or gender of the child.
When the child’s parents began investigating, two other children who had stayed at the day home said they, too, had been inappropriately touched.
Police are still trying to get in contact with all past clients of the day home.
They encourage anyone with information to contact them at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers.
More information about how to recognize signs of child abuse is available from the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre.
