A man who is accused of shooting at a Haralson County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested after authorities searched for him in three counties. Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon tells local media that 22-year-old Zachary Lord was identified by a Haralson County deputy Tuesday morning, who approached Lord because he was wanted for failing to appear for fingerprinting. Mixon says when the deputy approached Lord, he opened fire and fled. The deputy was unharmed.

The manhunt for Lord began in Haralson County, and went through Carroll County before ending in Douglas County. During the search, six Douglas County schools were placed on lockdown.

Tuesday evening, a K-9 spotted Lord hiding in a briar bush. He was taken to a Douglasville hospital. Mixon says Lord may have been high during the chase.
