A man is set to face a court charged with murder after a call from a member of the public led to his arrest and the discovery of a woman’s body in rural New South Wales.

Police were called to Union Street near the centre of Forbes in central west New South Wales just after 6am yesterday, where a 28-year-old man was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.

A short time later, police found the body of a 59-year-old woman known to the man at an Underwood Street home.

The man has been refused bail and is set to face Parkes Bail Court today charged with murder.
