The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has approved the formation of the School of Education Department at the Central University of Kerala (CUK) here with an objective to provide expert training for teachers and those conducting the teachers’ training course.
The Ministry has sanctioned Rs.12 crore to the university under the Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching, a senior university official has said.
The varsity has already received Rs.5.62 crore as the first instalment for setting up the training centre and for meeting initial expenses of the course.
The new course aims to provide state-of-the-art training for teachers from primary schools to universities and those teaching in technical educational institutions.
