Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the country at the moment cannot afford the politics of unrest and anarchy. “There is no room for politics of anarchy and confrontation in this present critical situation,” the chief minister said while talking to Federal Minister for Railways Kh.
Saad Rafique who met here yesterday.
Underscoring need for unity, consensus and solidarity at this hour of the national history, the chief minister said advised those involved in politics of confrontation to show a responsible attitude.
“Personal interests have no importance compared to national interests,” the Chief Minister said with obvious reference to PTI protest call to the people against the government.
Shehbaz Sharif said PML-N government has always upheld national interests and adopted a unanimous strategy over important national issues with the consultation of national leadership and it is improper on the part of defeated elements to try to achieve personal ends on vital national issues.
He said that there is a need to promote national unity and solidarity instead of anarchy and confrontation.
Shehbaz Sharif said that national leadership has displayed unprecedented unity and harmony for adopting a unanimous stance over increasing brutalities against unarmed Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir and violation of line of control by India and it is need of the hour that mutual differences should be set aside in the larger interests of the country.
However, he said, it is unfortunate that those promoting politics of confusion and conflict are betraying the blood of martyrs.
He said that it is time for national unity rather than divide the nation for achieving personal interests.
He said that enlightened people of the country would reject any attempt to divide the nation at this critical juncture through negative politics.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of collapse of a lift in Lady Wellingdon Hospital and sought a report from Adviser Health and Secretary Health.
