NIFTians predict top fashion trends at the Spring-Summer 2016


HYDERABAD: Want to know what is trending this summer? The latest trend report for the Spring-Summer Season of 2016 is the most helpful guide for what to wear this season.

Sheer maxis, patchwork denim and slip dresses are what should essentially be worn this season. Rainbow hues and floral prints teamed with various summer-friendly fabrics like linen, chiffon, Georgette, cotton, and chambray (a cloth with a white weft and a coloured warp) are the way to go this summer! Pin stripes and wide panels are also trending this season.

This trend report was actually part of a graduation project by NIFT student G. Aishwarya Reddy, who worked at Vogue India. This absolutely creative project bagged the Best Graduation Project Award of 2016, as well as the Most Innovative Graduation Project of 2016.

A picture based analysis; this trend report for Spring-Summer 2016 portrays an analysis of the latest trends for the year that have been gathered from all the fashion capitals of the world.  The fashion shows held at various fashion capitals of the world are analysed, and then this report is made with great care and attention to details.

Infinite Designs, a design showcase organized by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in the city on Tuesday, showcased the diversity in the world of fashion. This graduation ceremony for the students of Fashion Communication talks of a world of fashion, beyond the glamorous clothes, make up, ramp and fashion shows.

It includes Fashion Journalism, Graphic Designing, Photography, Fashion Styling, Visual Merchandising, Advertising, Public Relations and Space Design.

All the graduation projects of all the students of Fashion Communication were displayed at this event. Website Designing, Social Media Activities, Graphic Design, Product Photography, Visual Designing, Wedding Planning, Branding and Promotions, Fashion Styling, Brand and Identity Design, and Content Creation were some of the many fields that the students explored and researched into. They presented creative projects, excelling in the subject they took up.

How do we know which are the trends of the season? How are we always aware about what is “in fashion” and what is not? This is what this branch of fashion essentially aims at doing.
